ALLAN ALEXANDER SHWAYKOSKY With sadness, the family announces the passing of Allan Shwaykosky, at St. Boniface Hospital on Thursday, November 22, 2001 at the age of 68 years. Allan leaves to cherish his memory forever, his beloved wife, Emma (nee Van De Spiegle) and sons, Terry, Rod, Kirby (Carla) and daughter Sandra (Scott Pattison) six grandchildren, Tara, Mitchell, Steven, Cole, Keenan and Kaleb. He will also be missed by his sister Jean (Alex) Strukoff; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Jeanne Verniest, Laura (Gerald) Grift, Julia, Vic (Perry), Camille (Ellie), Raymond (Madeline) Van De Spiegle. Also numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Al was born near Arran, SK, April 10, 1933, eldest child of Jim and Anne Shwaykosky. He worked at a number of jobs in his younger years, before joining Canada Packers. He remained with them until ill health caused him to take an early retirement in 1986. To Al,...family was the greatest aspect of his life. Al was happiest when he was busy cooking for his family, gardening, picking wild berries and mushrooms, playing cards or camping...he truly loved nature! Al was devoted and dedicated to his wife Emma, of 41 years, and loving father and grandfather to his children and grandchildren. He was full of humor and full of love, and had a big heart... evident to the closeness of his large family and numerous friends. Prayers will be said on Monday, November 26 at 7:30 p.m. in the P. Coutu Funeral Chapel, 156 Marion St. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 27 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Alphonsus Parish, Munroe at Brazier, with Reverend Fr. Jorge Villegas, O.F.M., Cap celebrant. Interment will follow in Holland, MB at a later date.
