Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTEVE KOVICH Steve Kovich, aged 86, of Riverton, MB passed away peacefully on November 21, 2001 at the Arborg Personal Care Home. Steve was born December 15, 1914 in Rosenberg, MB to the late Leon and Alice Kovich. At a very young age Steve started working in the bush cutting pulp and in lumber mills. He worked construction, and some years he worked in various parts of Manitoba harvesting grain. Later on he bought a farm next to his parents which he farmed until 1994. In 1996 because of illness he entered the Personal Care home where he resided until his passing. He enjoyed hunting and trapping but most of all visiting friends and neighbours, playing cards and drinking coffee. He was predeceased by his sisters, Katie and Helen; brother Mike; and brothers-in-law John Romaniuk and Joe Zeolkowski. Left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Ann Romaniuk of Arborg and Josie Zeolkowski of Winnipeg; brothers, Edward Kovich of Arborg, Bill (Edna) Kovich of Winnipeg, and John (Olga) Kovich of Riverton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 25 at the Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 26 at 10:30 a.m. in the Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Chapel. Pastor Neil VonGunten will officiate, with interment to follow in Homer Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Garry Zeolkowski, Steven Zeolkowski, Joe Lupky, Brad Baziniak, Ted Baziniak, and Jerry Shumey. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Arborg Hospital and Personal Care Home for their care and kindness. Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Home, in care of arrangements.

It's almost 14 years since you left us and since then all of your brothers and sisters have left us to join you. I remember all the conversations and card games that you all had and the fun it was just to be with you guys. I will never forget. You taught me many things about hunting and the bush. You had a lot to do with who I am today. I miss you very much.
