VIRGINIA PHILLIPS Virginia Frances Mary Maude Allan was born January 13, 1906 on St. Mary Avenue in Winnipeg. She was the daughter of John M. Allan and Virginia Katherine Haas. She has lived in Pasadena, CA, St. Paul, MN, and Winnipeg. Claremont Avenue in Norwood was her home for over 45 years. Virginia was a survivor of a fire at the Casa Loma Block on Sherbrook and Portage, April 14, 1928. She jumped five stories and was hospitalized for eight months. Following her recovery she worked as a secretary for Canada Safeway. Virginia came to live at Riverview May 1996 and died November 21, 2001 on AB2. She was predeceased by her parents; two brothers, John "Warren" Allan (Gloria) and Karl William "Billy" Allan; her first husband Clayton "Gregg" Heake; and her second husband Steven Douglas Phillips. She is survived by a niece, Julia Wallner, Chicago Ridge, IL; her Norwood friends; her faithful companion, Helena; as well as the staff of AB2 and her many furry friends.
