REUBEN HARVEY (BEN) MOGAN It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our much loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Reuben Mogan on November 24, 2001. Ben will be greatly missed by his wife Inge; children, Aurelie, Mark and Bianca; their spouses, John, Gina and Ivor; grandchildren, Nevada, Brady, Bryce, Matthew, Raina, Camille and Salim; sister Ismay; brothers, Emanuel and Joseph and their families. Ben was born in Guyana in March 1929 and moved to England as a young man, where he met Inge in 1959. The family immigrated to Canada in 1967, where Ben worked at the University of Manitoba until his retirement in 1991. Bens great love of life, humour and gentleness endeared him to family and friends. Throughout his life he reached out to many people. Ben loved to get together with family and friends, and kept us entertained and thinking with his intelligence and wit. He delighted in all children, but particularly his grandchildren, each of whom have their own very special relationship with their Opa. Ben enjoyed spending time at the cottage, and used his design skill and craftsmanship to build a special place for us. Ben was a longtime member of the F.O. Eagles 3870 and more recently the R.C. Legion Fort Garry Branch No. 90, where he enjoyed the company of the members. He loved to play golf, cribbage, cards and chess, and was an avid sports fan. Throughout his short battle with cancer he maintained his courage, wit, humour and special charm. The family would like to thank Tracy and the nurses at St. Boniface Hospital 7A west. You took very good care of Ben. The family and he appreciated your kindness, your caring and your company. A private family service has been held. Friends are invited to remember Ben. Please drop by his home Tuesday November 27, between the hours of 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
