Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryW.E. TOD Bill Tod, formerly of Saskatoon and Winnipeg, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2001 after a lengthy illness. Bill was born February 14, 1924 in St. Vital, MB, attended Windsor school in St. Vital, Lord Roberts and Kelvin High Schools in Winnipeg. He served five years in the army during the Second World War in England, Africa and in the Italian and Northwest Europe Campaigns. Bill married Peggy Lothian in 1946 and they resided in Winnipeg, where their three children were raised. Bill was active in amateur hockey, community club work and the church. Bill and his family were transferred to Saskatoon by Federated Co-op in the early 1960s, where they resided until retirement in 1982. Bill was involved in Minor Hockey where he coached and served as President of the Saskatoon Minor Hockey Association. While living on their acreage, Bill acquired an interest in both horses and livestock. In 1977, Bill and Peggy became interested in Emma Lake and later acquired a home at Birch Bay, where they took up permanent residence in 1986 for their retirement. Peggy died in 1990 after a courageous battle with cancer and was buried at St. Christophers Anglican Church Cemetery in Christopher Lake. Bill married Josephine Jo Crothers in 1993 and they resided in Christopher Lake. Bills interests there included the Christopher Lake Legion, where he served as President; the Lakeland Rec Board; Christopher Lake Anglican Church; Christopher Lake Housing Board, where he served as a Board member; fan of the Prince Albert Raiders Hockey team; and conservation of the forest. Bill also enjoyed playing cards. Bills family was very important to him and he maintained close contact with them. His second family was also an important part of his retirement and his remarriage. He enjoyed being with them and he was very fond of all of them. Bill was predeceased by his first wife Margaret Peggy Tod; his parents, Peter and Evelyn Tod; his sister Bernice Bickell and his brother Ron Tod. Bill is survived by his daughters, Wendy (Don) Kunkel and Cathy LePage (Darrell) his son Robert Bob (Deborah) Tod; his grandchildren, Tod and Wendy Dawn Kunkel; Matthew and Jennifer Tod and Michael LePage; great-grandchild Alyssa Kunkel; and wife Josephine Crothers, as well as his step-children and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. The Tod family would like to thank Josephine for the love and support she provided Bill during his long battle with cancer. The funeral service will be conducted on Friday, November 30 at the Christopher Lake Legion Hall, at 1:30 p.m., with Veterans Honours conferred. Interment in Christopher Lake Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion, Christopher Lake Branch.
