PETER LYONS Peacefully on November 26, 2001, Peter Lyons passed away with his daughters at his side. Peter will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Janet (Heinz) Sperber of Qualicum Beach, BC, and Merle (Ross) Somers of Abbotsford, BC; and grandchildren, Susan (Marc), Julie, Kirk and Catherine; and great-grandson Alec. Peter was predeceased by his beloved wife Vera, brother John and sister Mary. Peter was born in Addiewell, Scotland on October 27, 1907. At the age of 20, he emigrated from Scotland to Canada and worked at various jobs before returning to England for nine years where he married Vera and his daughters were born. The family returned to Canada in 1948. Peter was employed by the T. Eaton Company until his retirement. He was an avid fisherman and loved to travel in his home made camper. He had a love of music and would always be drawn to the sound of a piano playing to join in the singing or offer a solo. He was a wonderful handyman and could fix most anything. His sense of humour will be missed by all who knew him. He will be sadly missed by his family. The family wishes to extend their deepest thanks and gratitude to all the staff on the 4th floor at Lions Manor. As well as a very special thank you to a wonderful friend, Lesley Johnson, for all her kindness to Dad. A private family service will be held with interment to follow in Brookside Cemetery.
