Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryARTHUR ALBERT PHELPS Arthur Albert Phelps passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2001 in the Victoria General Hospital at the age of 85 years. Arthur was born June 28, 1916 in Haileybury, ON. He was predeceased by his brothers, Jack and Fred and sister, Jean. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife Hendrina (Rini) sons, Michael (Joy), Stephen (Valerie) and John (John Tinkler) daughters, Maria and Monica and granddaughters, Erica, Julia and Lindsay. Art is also survived by his sister Monica Haynes (Allen) brother-in-law Doug Bellisle and sister-in-law Lillian Phelps; numerous nephews and nieces as well as his faithful canine companion, Lucy. Art served with the Canadian Army (Artillery) in Italy, North Africa and Holland where he met and married Rini in 1946. For many years, Art enjoyed success and prosperity in owning and operating his own business as a manufacturers agent. "Bumpa" was a devoted, selfless and loving husband, father and grandfather. He had a boundless capacity for love and even in his eighties, enjoyed daily workouts, cross-country skiing and golf, finally perfecting his swing just two weeks ago. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 3 at 1:00 p.m. in St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, Stafford at Corydon, followed by interment in St. Vital Cemetery. A reception will follow the interment. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the doctors, nurses and orderlies at the Victoria General Hospital for their understanding and kindness.
