PEGGY MARIE JASKOW (nee PEARSON) On November 29, 2001 at the Seven Oaks Hospital, Peggy Jaskow, aged 65 years, of Winnipeg, passed peacefully away. Peggy was born in Selkirk on May 6, 1936, daughter of the late Captain Percy Pearson and Elizabeth (nee Blinco). She received her education in Selkirk and later moved to Winnipeg where she worked as a supervisor of data entry for the Municipal Affairs Branch for the Provincial Government until retiring in 1991. Peggy had a great sense of humour and especially enjoyed get-togethers with family and friends. She also enjoyed time at the lake, Red River jigging, watching the birds and animals, and most importantly spending time with her grandchildren. Peggy was greatly respected and will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Peggy was predeceased by her lifelong companion, Harvey Wirffel; brothers, Donald and Garnet Pearson; and a sister Eleanor Chamberlain. She leaves surviving her children, Cathy Cameron (Gordon), Jackie Challoner (Dave), Carol Wirffel, Julius Wirffel (Debbie) and Ron Wirffel, all of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Kelly, Colin, Michael, Trevor (Claudette), Jason (Carie), Jennifer, Julius Jr., Jesse (Natalie) great-grandchildren, Elyssa, Lucas and Kevin, all of Winnipeg; sisters, Betty Palmer and Louise (Arthur) Chamberlain of Selkirk and Ione (Trevor) Destigter of Christchurch, New Zealand; sister-in-law Mabel Pearson of Selkirk; and numerous nieces and nephews. A service of remembrance will be held on Monday, December 3 at 1:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, with Rev. Peter Cain officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Special thanks to Dr. Neil Lerner and the staff of Unit 1, 5th floor, at Seven Oaks Hospital.
