Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryARTHUR (Red) MEAKIN Arthur passed away peacefully on November 21, 2001 at Seven Oaks Hospital. He leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Dorothy. Red was born on April 3, 1917 in Winnipeg, and grew up in the East Kildonan area, along with his three brothers; Leonard, Freddy, Wilf, and sister Edith. He married Dorothy in 1938. Shortly after he joined the Air Force in the Second World War. Upon returning from the war, he worked at Nairn Mts for a while, and then owned Midtown Autobody in the 50s. Finally he worked at Versatile as the foreman of the paint department, and retired from there in the early 80s. About that same time he sold his cottage at Beaver Creek, which he had built in 1956. He spent many hours working and relaxing at his cottage. He was often visited there by his family, including his niece and nephews who always referred to him as "Unc". Shortly after this time, "Unc" was confined to his bedroom until his passing. We all miss you "Unc", and wish you were here just to "pull your finger", one last time. May your soul rest in peace "Unc", as our souls are now at peace for you. Love, your family.
