Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBARBARA JOAN OSTRANDER (nee HASTINGS) Peacefully, on November 30, 2001, at Grace General Hospital, Barbara passed away. Born in Calgary on July 13, 1918, Barbara was raised in Winnipeg and briefly in Leicester, England and resided in Winnipeg during her adult years. Barbara graduated from Gordon Bell High School and began a working career at the Hudson Bay and Bank of Commerce. She married Andrew Richmond Ostrander in November, 1946 and raised two children, Andrew and Jean. In later years Barbara was employed at the Winnipeg General Hospital until her retirement. Predeceased by her husband Andrew, she leaves to mourn her son Andrew Ostrander, daughter Jean Morton and husband Mac, grandchildren, Ryan, Jennifer, Laura and Sandra, niece Joan Simpkins and cousins, Joan, Rose and Kathleen in England. Despite a difficult youth, including the death of her mother when she was sixteen, Barbara retained a positive outlook on life. She was always cheerfully interested in the people and activities around her. Even in periods of poor health she would be thinking of others and exchanging friendly greetings. She will be sadly missed. There will be a memorial service on Tuesday, December 4 at 1:00 p.m. at the Lions Manor, 320 Sherbrook Street. Cremation will have taken place with interment at a later date at the family plot in Riverside Cemetery in Graysville, Manitoba. Thanks to all those who cared for her during her illness, especially those at the Lions Manor and Grace General Hospital. In lieu of flowers a donation to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
