DONALD EDWARD HYDE Peacefully on November 28, 2001, Don went to be with his father and sister. He leaves behind his wife, Colleen; and sons, Chris and Drew; his mother Marj Hyde of Dauphin; brother Neil of Winnipeg; and his godchildren, Shaun, Vanessa and Alison. Hell be dearly missed by Colleens parents, Jon and Edith Jonson of Arborg; her brothers and sisters, Doreen Johnson (George), children, Teresa, Kelvin; Garry Jonson (Judy), children, Carrie, Amanda, Cindy, Kayla; Ingrid Fjeldsted (Brian), children, Scot, Marie, Shaun, Stefan; Judy Orbanski (Donnie), children, Vanessa, Adam, Robin, Desmond, Katherine; Cheryl Bater (Dwayne), children, Sara, Jason, Brittni; Glenn Jonson (Valerie), children, Cassandra, Jonathon, Ryan, Eric, Stephen; Clint Jonson; Wendy Friesen (David), children, Nathan, Matthew and Alison. Don was born in Fort Churchill on October 13, 1951, moving several years later to Dauphin, where he grew up. He went on to the University of Manitoba, and became a Chartered Accountant in 1975. He started his career with Touche Ross, where he worked for 10 years. In 1983, he joined James Richardson & Sons, and eventually became their Treasurer and Corporate Risk Manager. Don volunteered with several organizations, including Manitoba Genealogical Society (President) Manitoba Risk and Insurance Management Society (President) Winport (Member) 1998 PanAm Games (Chair, Risk Management Committee) River East Marauders Hockey Team (Manager). In his spare time, Don enjoyed woodworking, completing several major projects around the house and yard. His latest was a double pedestal oak desk for Drew. Drew and his Dad shared an interest in wanting to know how things worked from motors to bikes to stereo equipment. Don encouraged and supported Chriss love of hockey, providing a rink at home for years, and attending dozens of games and practices as Chris progressed from the East St. Paul Aces at age 9, to the AA Marauders today. The family thanks Dons colleagues at Richardsons, Drs. Lezak and Foerster and staff at St. Boniface Hospital, and friends and family who have supported us these past five years. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to CancerCare Manitoba. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 7 at 1:30 p.m. at the Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Ph. 338-7111
