GRACE KATHLEEN McCRUDEN Grace Kathleen of Calgary passed away on November 21, 2001 at the age of 79 years. She was predeceased by her husband Albert Ninian in July 1977. Grace is survived by her five children, Jane, Kathy Matheson (Ken), John (Adrian), Paul (Val) and Hugh (Cindy) grandchildren, Mark, Jeff, Alex, Mackenzie, William, Chris, and Elisa; twin sister Frances Johnson (Bert) and sister Elaine Turpin (Tom). She will be remembered fondly by many other extended family and friends. Grace was born in Winnipeg on July 23, 1922, raised in Pointe de Bois, MB and spent the majority of her adult life in Calgary. She graduated from the Winnipeg General Hospital School of Nursing in 1945. Graces happiest times were spent hiking, skiing, and travelling. She was one of the original members of Tuesday Hikers, a group that hiked and skied together for over 30 years and where she amassed over 6,031 miles in the mountains she loved. She was also an active member of Elder Hostel and travelled most of the globe. Grace was an avid bridge player, playing with the same group for over 50 years. She was also a member of the St. Michaels Sunshine Girls and a long-standing member of Calgary Oil Wives. Funeral services will be held at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church (1600 Acadia Dr. S.E., Calgary) on Saturday, December 1 at 1:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Graces memory may be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 1825 Park Rd.
