STAFF SERGEANT GORDON LIEBRECHT of Winnipeg River RCMP detachment After a courageous battle with cancer, we are sad to announce the passing of Gordon on November 29, 2001 at the Riverview Health Center in Winnipeg, MB at the age of 55. He was predeceased by his father Adam and his infant sister Arlene. Gordon is survived by his wife Paulette; sons, Randy and Rodney; mother Martha; sister Donna (Jim) brothers, Barrie (June), Glenn (Barb) and in-laws, Rita and Bernard Cloutier. Gordon completed his RCMP training in Regina in 1966 and was fortunate to be the last troop that trained with horses. His love of horses was carried out through his 35 years of service and led to his participation in the RCMP re-enactment of the March West Ride in 1999. He was one of the only 14 riders who completed the 53 day, 1200 kilometre trek across the prairies. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Janice Mulder and all the staff at 3E Riverview Health Center for the care and compassion given to Gordon and his family. Also, thanks to Winnipeg River RCMP, Powerview, MB and Sergeant Joe MacDougall and Chaplain Father Ed Kosa for the help and support for which we are grateful. God saw you getting tired And a cure was not to be You suffered much in silence Your spirit did not bend You faced you pain with courage Until the very end Hard working hands at rest God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best You will be missed and remembered always. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 5 at 2:00 p.m. Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., with Rev. Fr. Ed Kosa, O.M.I. officiating. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044

  • We only met once. I came to Yorktown with your aunt Lydia for grammars funeral. Sad I couldn't have seen you again. My wife wants to be a police officer in Vancouver. I know you are looking down on us. - Posted by: Dennis Kling (Cousin) on: Dec 01, 2014
