MIKE HRENO It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we the sister, brothers and our families announce the sudden passing of Michael (Mike) Hreno, aged 69, on Thursday, November 29, 2001 at the St. Boniface General Hospital. Mike was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Barbara Hreno and by a brother (at birth) and infant sister Anna. Left to cherish his memory are sister Mary Plovie (Gordon) brother John Hreno (Carole) brother Walter Hreno (Diane) nieces, Nancy Reinhart (Richard), Joan Hreno (Loren), Debbie Hanson (John), Patti Hreno and nephews, Larry Plovie (Kathy), Gary Plovie (Marilyn), Trent Hreno (Carrie), Travis Hreno and David Hreno, as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews. As well, Mike leaves many dear friends behind in the vicinity of Middlebro, Sprague, South Junction, Moose Lake and in Winnipeg and Minneapolis. Mike resided in Middlebro since 1935 at which time our family moved into the area. He especially enjoyed working with his father and his brothers on the farm and with the family timber operations in southeastern Manitoba, He also worked for more than 20 years at the particle board plant in Sprague. Mike loved southeastern Manitoba, knew the area well, and always enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at Moose Lake. Although he had no children of his own, he dearly loved, as his own, his sisters and brothers children and in turn their children. "Uncle" Mike always had time to play with the children of the family through successive generations, and could always bring a big smile to a childs face. Mike will always be remembered as a kind, gentle and considerate man with a great sense of humour, who loved to talk, laugh, play cards and spend time with his family and friends. He was the first person to offer his assistance to anyone that needed his help. Mike was indeed the soul of kindness to those that knew him, and he has left us with many happy memories. He was a much loved son, a wonderful brother and brother-in-law, a cherished and dear uncle and a loyal friend. With his passing a hole has been left in our family. We will miss him greatly and love him forever. The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nursing staff at the Vita Hospital, who were so kind to Mike, and to thank also Ms. Sandi Klassen, responsible for the day-care program at Sprague, who was so helpful to all of us. Funeral Mass will be held on December 4, 1:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Assumption Roman Catholic Church at South Junction with Father Joseph Tran officiating. Viewing one hour before the service. Pallbearers for the service will be Larry Plovie, Gary Plovie, Trent Hreno, Travis Hreno, David Hreno and Steven Plovie. Arrangements entrusted to Loewen Funeral Chapel of Steinbach. 204-326-1351.
