ROSS FREDERICK MEGGISON Peacefully on Friday, November 30, 2001 at Deloraine Memorial Hospital, with his family at his side, Ross went to be with his Lord and Saviour. He was born January 13, 1913. He laves to mourn his passing, his wife and best friend of 55 years, Grace, his children, Judy (Jim) Coleman from Winnipeg, Lorna (Gary) Nestibo from Goodlands, and Murray (Lynda) from Mission, TX; his grandchildren, Cory and Chad Coleman, Tanya and Dallas Nestibo, and Bryan and Brad Meggison; his sisters, Bessie Baker from Kaslo, BC and Jean R from Brandon, MB; sister-in-law Glenis from Trail, BC; his many nieces and nephews, neighbours and friends. Ross was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Mabel; his sister Dorothy; and his brothers, Stan and Irvin. Ross farmed most of his life in the Goodlands area in Southwestern Manitoba, except for his time spent serving his country in the Second World War. Upon retirement, Grace and Ross spent a couple of years in Brandon before moving to make Deloraine their home. Dad and Mom spent many winters in Texas enjoying family and warm weather. He was active in his church and community. He was a baseball and hockey coach in earlier years, served as Brenda Municipal councillor for eight years, was a member of the Deloraine Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion and served on various Boards. He supported political parties whose ideals and leadership were in keeping with Gods Word. Even though this wasnt a particularly popular was to think with the majority, it was what was right to Dad. He loved to visit with people of all ages and valued who each one was as an individual, unique person. He can best be remembered fro his integrity, love of fun and storytelling - but most of all his love for family and his relationship with God. A service of celebration was held on Tuesday, December 4 in the Goodlands Fellowship Church. SMITH FUNERAL HOME (204)747-2088
