Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWALTER KOZLOWSKI Walter Kozlowski peacefully passed away on December 1, 2001 at the Taber Home in Morden, MB with his family beside him. Walter was born in Poland and came to Canada as a baby. He grew up in Camp Morton. He married Mary Paracholski and they farmed in the Gimli area. Later they moved to Selkirk, MB and Walter worked as a moulder for many years. He did carpentry work and haircutting in addition to his regular job. He built his own home in Selkirk where he raised his family. His leisure time was spent hunting, fishing and trapping. He loved the outdoors and shared many of his experiences with his grandsons, David and Kevin. One of his many achievements was his own method of tanning furs of animals that he had trapped. From the fur that he tanned, he sewed winter fur hats for himself and friends. He was a lifetime member of the Notre Dame Church in Selkirk. He was predeceased by his wife Mary, his daughter Rose Marie and son John. He is survived by two daughters, Caroline Skrypetz (Ernie) and Betty Kelner (Jerry) six grandchildren, David Kelner (Marla), Kevin Kelner (Michelle), Heidi Langan (Ron), Tanya Skrypetz, Donna Hempler (Robert) and Barbara Skiba. He was also a great-grandfather to twin boys, Justin and Tristin Langan. He is also survived by a brother Stanley Kozlowski (Ann), Charlie Hurak (Mary) and Rose Schnerch (Henry). He also leaves special friend Mary Lefteruk whom he spent many hours in friendship. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Many of Walters family, relatives and friends will remember Walter as being a person with strong views on religion, world affairs, politics and the government. His love of the outdoors took him to many lakes and rivers to hunt and fish in the Province of Manitoba. His passing away is the end to a full life spent in looking after his family, spending time outdoors and practicing his faith. Prayers will be said on Monday (tonight) at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, December 4 at 10:30 a.m. in the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church in Selkirk with Fr. Boguslaw Wardzinski officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
