Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALAN VINCENT JONES After a long hard struggle with Alzheimers, Alan died peacefully at Riverview Health Centre, Saturday, December 1, 2001. He is survived by his wife Margaret; daughter Susan; sons, Glenn (Pauline) and Greg; grandson Dylan; and other relatives in Canada and England. He was predeceased by his parents; brother Dudley and sister Elvia. Alan was born April 7, 1929 in Birmingham, England. He came to Medicine Hat, AB in 1952 where he met and married Margaret June 15, 1957. They moved to Winnipeg in 1962. He worked as a stereotyper for the Medicine Hat News and the Winnipeg Free Press, and joined the staff of Scouts Canada in 1971. He was largely responsible for the design and introduction of the Beaver program, and in 1991, was made an Honorary Citizen of the City of Winnipeg. Alan was an active member of the Anglican Church, the ecumenical Charismatic movement, and Cursillo. Cycling and camping were Alans passions and he passed these loves on to his family. Thanks to Riverview AB2 Staff for the compassionate care Alan received during his two year stay there. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 5 at St. Mary Magdalene Church, 3 St. Vital Rd.
