JANE FRANCES MACKLIN Jane passed on at the Selkirk General Hospital on December 2, 2001. She was predeceased by her infant son Lorne Fillmore and by her mother and father Betty and Elwyn Fillmore. She is survived by her husband of more than 50 years, Laurence Macklin, son Jim and her sister Esther Pearson, all of Clandeboye. She is much loved and will be greatly missed by her many nieces and nephews and by a number of young people who have worked on their farm. She was a member of The First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston, MA. After graduating in the Faculty of Education Jane taught school in Austin, Gilbert Plains and Winnipeg. She continued her interest in education all of her life. She worked most of her married life on behalf of the Association for Community Living. She published all of their newsletters long before the computer made this relatively easy. She also took an active interest in her community affairs. She was a longtime member of the PEO Chapter A. Private family services will be held on Wednesday, December 5 at Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Selkirk, with Mr. Grant McIntosh officiating. Graveside interment service for those friends wishing to attend will be held on Wednesday, December 5 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clandeboye United Churchyard Cemetery, with Rev. Lynn Stevens and Mr. G. McIntosh officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. Those so wishing may make a donation in her memory to the Association for Community Living, 306-A Jemima St., Selkirk, MB R1A 1X1. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
