Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALBERT "ANDY" TOTIN August 16, 1934 - November 30, 2001 After a lengthy illness, Andy peacefully passed away with his family by his side and in his heart. Predeceased by his father Andrew (1991), Andy will be greatly missed by his wife Verna; mother Rose; children, Diane (Mike), Donna, Gail (Mark), and Wendy (Dennis), their mother Sylvia, Jackie (Brian), Wade (Cyndie), Lisa (Shawn), Mary Ann (Vince), David, and Brian (Carrie) his grandchildren, Laura, Steven, Tyler, Nicole, Kyle, Kevin, Stephen, Erick, Trevor, and Paige; sister Claudia (Phil) nephews, Michael (Kristine), and Richard; sister Anita; niece Susan; and nephew Jeff as well as his many friends. Andy was a hard worker from a young age and went into business with his father Andrew at United Sash Company Ltd. in St. Boniface for 22 years, making some of the finest window and door frames in Winnipeg. Closing his business in 1978, Andy moved on to Bissett, MB where he had spent many weekends building his cottage "The Cabin". In Bissett, he built and operated "Andys Place"; a local restaurant home of the Dandy Burger and homemade French-fries. Andy spent the last 11 years, along with his wife, as a campground attendant at beautiful Black Lake Campground in Nopiming Provincial Park, where he spent much of his spare time carving, which he had a special talent for. For many years, Andy competed in professional handgun target shooting that took him all over Canada and the United States for competitions. In 1978, Andy officiated as a judge in the handgun competition at the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton. Most of his life, Andy had been a member of many groups or organizations as well as the Bissett Community Council as a councilor and the Chairman of the Community. Andy always had the fight in him to go after what he believed in. The family would like to give an extra special thank you to Dr. Wong and his staff of the Cancer Unit at the St. Boniface Hospital, as well as the nurses and their staff in unit 5A of St. Boniface Hospital, for their extra help and compassion at a difficult time when needed the most. Memorial service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 5. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 2B7.
