CAROLINE TOPOROWSKI Peacefully in her sleep, Mom passed away on Friday, November 30, 2001 at the St. Pauls Home in Dauphin, MB at the age of 95 years. Mom was born April 29, 1906 in Pulp River, MB to Anna and Joseph Soshycki. She married Dad on November 22, 1922. They farmed in the Pulp River and Garland, MB area until 1953, then moving to Pine River, MB and later to Birch River, MB. After Dads passing in 1984, Mom moved to the Sunny Side Lodge in Ethelbert, MB. She was a member of Saints Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church. Her faith in God gave her much comfort until her passing. In the summer of 2000, she was hospitalized, and later became a resident of St. Pauls Home until her demise. In her younger years Mom was a hard worker. She enjoyed nature very much, loved gardening, and nurturing her plants and flowers. Sewing and patchwork quilt making was a passion. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Nicholas, son Walter, grandson Gary Toporowski, great-grandson Wesley Oleksuk, two brothers and one sister. She leaves to mourn one daughter Mae (Myron) Kotyluk of Winnipeg; daughter-in-law Lillian Toporowski of Calgary, AB; grandchildren, Lorne (Denise) Kotyluk, Darlene (Calvin) Oleksuk, Shelly Coveney, Stan Toporowski, Brenda Toporowski; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter. Prayers will be offered on Wednesday, December 5 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sneath-Strilchuk Funeral Chapel, Dauphin. Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, December 6 at 10:00 a.m. in the Ethelbert Saints Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church. Rev. Eugene Rudachek will officiate and interment will follow in the Birchwood Cemetery, Swan River, MB. Friends who so desire may make memorial donations to St. Pauls Home, 703 Jackson St., Dauphin, MB R7N 2N2. A big thank you to the staff of St. Pauls Home for the wonderful care and compassion, especially to Mom. The Sneath-Strilchuk Funeral Service, Dauphin, have care of the arrangements. (204) 638-4110.
