Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGUNNAR ELMER SOLVASON Peacefully on December 3, 2001, our dearly beloved husband, father and grandfather Gunnar Solvason passed away with his family by his side at Johnson Memorial Hospital, Gimli, MB at the age of 76 years. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Vera (nee West) of 55 years, his son George (Debbie), daughter Deborah Furst (Bruce) and son Byron (Diane) and his five grandchildren, Olivia Solvason, Ryan and Tannis Furst, Brendan and Jade Solvason. He was predeceased by his parents, Bjardis and Paul Solvason; sisters, Karolina, Laura, Emily; and brother Ingvar. His sudden passing will be greatly mourned by his brothers, Steve (Jean), Wynn (Maxine) sisters, Pauline, Hilda (Les), Mildred (John) plus many nephews and nieces, family and friends. Gunnar was born January 10, 1925 in Hayland, MB and spent his growing years fishing Lake Manitoba. He enjoyed carpentry and playing his guitar at family gatherings. Dad built their home in Husavik and in 1982 after 35 years with the C.N.R., settled in with the nature he loved, to enjoy his retirement with Mom. Dads happiest times were the visits from his children and grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 7, at 11:00 a.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., entrance on Aubrey Street. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. S. V. Patel, nurses and staff at Johnson Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care.
