Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGERARD (GERRY) JOSEPH NADEAU Surrounded by the love of his family, Gerry Nadeau peacefully returned to his Lord in the early hours of Saturday, December 1, 2001 at Health Sciences Centre. Gerry was born February 21, 1949 and grew up on the family farm in La Broquerie, MB where he lived all his life. In 1969 he left the farm to work for his Uncle Ovide Vielfaure who was the Shell agent in Lorette, MB. He then worked for Hanover Breeders of Steinbach, MB and Herd Management Services of Selkirk, MB in the 1970s. In 1980 he began working at La Broquerie Transfer Ltd. and bought the company in 1988. He saw this company grow to be a vibrant enterprise, working shoulder to shoulder with his son Serge. He always surrounded himself with quality people. Service with a Smile was one of his sayings, even on days when things did not go well. He could always think of someone else who was worse off. Gerry was a member of the Manitoba Trucking Association serving on the Board of Directors and a member of the Knights of Columbus. As one of the original founding members of the La Broquerie Volunteer Fire Department, he served as a fire fighter from 1978 to 1991. Aside from his many interests he had a strong passion for golf. Gerry is survived by his beloved wife Helene (Bremaud) daughter Carole and husband Jean C. Gagnon; grandsons, Marcel (Mars), Rene (Ringo) and Rejean (Boo Boo Bear) his son Serge and wife Ruth (Reimer) all of La Broquerie. He is also survived by his parents, Maurice and Denise Nadeau of La Broquerie; his three sisters, Madelayne and Alfred Fillion of Brussels, Belgium, Jeanne Nadeau of Winnipeg, and Marcelle Nadeau and Tom Bryce of Winnipeg; nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many special friends. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Marguerite Bremaud of Ste. Agathe, MB, sisters-in-law and their spouses, Henritte and Robbert Hilhorst of Anola, Connie and Norm Falk of Mitchell, Rose Bremaud and Richard Fast of Morden, Joelle and Lyndon Nelson of Winnipeg, and Linda Dyck of Steinbach; brothers-in-law, Andre and Lise Bremaud, Lionel and Carol Bremaud, Noel and Cheryl-Lynne Bremaud, Edouard and Elfrieda Bremaud, Marcel and Rosaline Bremaud all of La Broquerie, and Etienne and Rita Bremaud of Ste Agathe. He always had a special place in his heart for his sister-in-law Helene Langelier and her husband Napoleon. He was predeceased by his only brother Leon, his father-in-law Henri Bremaud and brothers-in-law, Daniel and Pierre Bremaud. Prayers for Gerry Nadeau will be held Tuesday, December 4, 8:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach5. Memorial service will be held Saturday, December 8, 2:00 p.m. at St. Joachim Catholic Church, La Broquerie. If friends so desire donations may be made to Canadian Red Cross Society; P.O.
