Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGUERITE (MARGARET) MacWILLIAM Peacefully, on December 2, 2001, at the Grace Hospital, Margaret passed away at the age of 75. Margaret is survived by her beloved husband Gordon; daughters, JoAnn Powell (Arnie) of Toronto and Leslie Van de Laar (Bob) of Ottawa; much loved grandchildren, David, James, Steven, Nicole, and Michael; brother Lawrence Verge (Kay) of Nova Scotia; and sister-in-law Dorothy Howard of Nova Scotia. Margaret was born in White Point, NS on September 30, 1926. She married the love of her life, Gordon and they spent 55 wonderful years together. They enjoyed the exciting years spent moving to many places across Canada with Gordons military career, before settling in Winnipeg in 1973. It was in Winnipeg that Margaret commenced a second career as the spiritual director of Tuxedo Villa Nursing Home, where she spent many of her happiest years serving the faith needs of the residents. Margaret cared most about faith and family. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother. Margaret was an active member of the St. James Presbyterian Church, and served as church librarian for many years. She taught us all to believe that God has "a plan" for our lives. Margaret was an avid outdoorswoman. She loved camping, golf, and enjoyed nature. She was a lifelong baseball fan, and always followed the Blue Jays games. Margaret was a voracious reader and talented writer. All who knew her enjoyed her sense of humour, sharp wit, and positive outlook on life. Margaret will always be remembered for her kind, caring ways and generous love of all people in need. The family wishes to express their thanks to Dr. Renouf, Dr. Harris, Dr. Morgan, and the nursing staff of the Grace General Hospital for their gracious care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Margarets memory to the charity of your choice as tokens of remembrance. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 6 at 1:00 p.m. at St. James Presbyterian Church, 1476 Portage Ave., with Rev. Beth McCutcheon officiating. Interment will follow at a later date and a reception will follow at the St. James Presbyterian Church. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
