MARIE FINCH Suddenly, on December 4, 2001, Marie peacefully passed on at St. Boniface Hospital at a much too young age of 62. She was predeceased by her father William Dobrowolsky, brother Adam, and her beloved husband Harold. Missing her dearly will be her family, son Bill (Janine), children, Collin and Chase; daughter Phyllis (Jim), children, Kate and Nikki; son Tom and son Rich, children, Danielle and Zach. Also missing her will be her mother Margaret; sisters, Rose (Bob), Kay, Angie (Ernie), Barb (Terry), Patsy; and brother Rick (June) as well as numerous family and friends. Marie was born June 14, 1939, in Leacross, SK, and moved to Winnipeg, where she met and married Harold on February 28, 1959. She then went about raising their four children, taking a very active role in their schooling and sporting activities. Never one to shy away from work or add her opinion, she served on the Faraday School PTA, eventually becoming President during the late 60s. She also became a very visible and vocal sports Mom, having been known to run up and down the sidelines supporting her sons at North Winnipeg Nomads football games and in winter, running up and down indoor rinks or outside through snowbanks at her sons hockey games. Just this year, she returned to watch her grandson play football for the Nomads, although at a much slower pace than 25 years ago. Mom was a great cook with a heart of gold who never thought she could do enough for you. She was continuously trying to do just a little bit more, or add a little bit, when she had already done too much. She received immense joy and satisfaction from cooking, sharing it with people and watching them devour her spoils. She was incredibly proud of all of her childrens accomplishments, no matter how great or small and has an enormous collection of her childrens past, which she never forgot. Her fierce pride had extended to her grandchildren, who she kept right up to date on. She never grew tired of talking, or bragging about her children or grandchildren. Mom has worked at Dominion Carpet Cleaning for the last 15 years and has left a lasting impression on all of her co-workers, who she regarded as family. Anyone who had the pleasure of Moms company knew that somehow, she could bring a smile to your face. Family was extremely important to Mom. One of her happiest times was last Christmas, when all of her children and grandchildren celebrated Christmas together for the first time in over 20 years. She was in all her glory. One of Moms strongest traits was bringing laughter into a room and being able to laugh at herself and not take herself too seriously. You will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank the CICU at St. Boniface Hospital for their kindness, and the attending police officers for their quick action and compassion. A memorial service celebrating Moms life will be held on Friday, December 7 at 12:00 noon at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., with Rev. Cliff McMillan officiating. A private interment will be held at a later date. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
