Date of Passing: Dec 03, 2001
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER DANIEL HALIUK Peacefully, on Monday, December 3, 2001, Peter Haliuk, aged 85 years of Winnipeg, found eternal rest. Peter has left to cherish his memory, numerous nieces and nephews, among them Joe Bailey (Jean), Elsie Raina (Louis), Don Beley (Frances), Jennie Bailley, Valerie Podaima, Judy Palumbo, Olga Prusak (Steve), Debbie Young (Dale), Olga Kulyk (John) as well as many great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Natalia and Daniel Haliuk, his nine brothers and sisters, as well as their spouses. A simple man with a warm smile, Peter spent close to 40 years of his life farming in his hometown of Poplarfield, MB. There he was active both in community activities as well as the church life of his hometown. Later years brought a move to Winnipeg, a change in career and a change in lifestyle. Through it all, he maintained his zest for life and brought a smile to many faces. His kindness to those around him and the special visits he gave even when he himself was not well will always be remembered. Peter was a special blessing from God that touched the lives of all whom he met. Prayers will be sung 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 5 at St. Josephat Ukrainian Catholic Church, 590 Alverstone. Divine liturgy will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 6, also at the church, with Rev. I. Royik officiating. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery. The family, especially great-niece Patricia, would like to thank the staff of Victoria General Hospital for their care of our Uncle Peter, as well as the staff of Central Park Lodge where he had resided since June. Also, thanks to Fr. I. Royik for his visits and comforting presence, and all those who came to visit him and prayed for him. VICHNAYA PAMYAT KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 956-2193
