DEREK BRANDT With deepest sorrow, we announce the untimely passing of our dearly beloved husband and father, Derek, on December 7, 2001 at the age of 49 years. Left to cherish his memory is Irene, his wife of 28 years; sons, Kevin and Corey. He is also survived by his parents, Herbert and Constance Brandt; brother David (Anita) and numerous relatives and friends. He was predeceased by a sister Valorie in 1994, and father-in-law George Borek in 1999. At the time of his passing, Derek was employed by CP Rail where he had worked for the past 28 years. Derek was an avid golfer who lived life to the fullest. He spent many years refereeing hockey for the various leagues around the city. Through this, he developed many long-lasting friendships with referees and players alike. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 12 at 10:00 a.m. at Knysh Funeral Home, 1020 Main St. Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tom Parent, Ken Mallette, Kevin Campbell, Don Smith, Darryl Fedyck and Wayne Gogal. When I must leave you for a little while Please do not grieve and shed wild tears and hug the sorrow to you through the years But start out bravely with a gallant smile and for my sake and in my name live on and do all things the same. Feed not your loneliness on empty days Fill each waking hour in useful ways Reach out your hand in comfort and cheer and I in return will comfort you and hold you near. And never, never be afraid to die for I am waiting for you in the sky. Rest in Peace my Darling Husband We love you, Dad. KNYSH FUNERAL CHAPEL 582-0973
