GERTRUDE (GEERTRUIDA) KUYPERS Gertrude Kuypers, beloved wife of Bill Kuypers, passed away in the presence of her family at St. Boniface Hospital, on December 5, 2001, at the age of 82. Besides her loving husband, she will be missed by her sons, Bill (Dianne) of Calgary, Dick (Ruth) of Winnipeg; her daughter Debbie (Dan) of St. Andrews; and by her grandchildren, Sean (Pauline), Robert (Jennifer), Darren (Sonya), Derek, Krystal, Tara-Lee, Rick, Scott, and Ainsley. Also left to mourn are seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Tina, in 1999. Gertrude was born on April 5, 1919, in Utrecht, Netherlands. Gertrude and William were married in 1944 and recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary. They moved to Manitoba in 1957 and have resided in St. Vital for the past 40 years. Gertrude enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, baking and knitting. The family wishes to thank the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital for their care and compassion extended to Gertrude. A special thanks to Home Care for their many years of personalized care. If so desired, a memorial tribute may be made in Gertrudes name to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 2B7, or the Parkinson Foundation of Canada, 825 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB, R3A 1M5. Viewing will be held at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint) on Friday, December 7 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. A memorial service will take place at Glen Lawn Funeral Home on Saturday, December 8 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in the Garden of Christ the Redeemer in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens.
