ANNIE LOUISE CLARKE (nee SMITH) 1933 - 2001 On Thursday, December 6, 2001 our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Annie passed away at the age of 68 years. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband of 49 years, George and her children, Valerie (Franklin), Rhonda (Allan), Randolph, Leslie (Vickie), Lorene, Barbara (Mike), Karen, Cathy (Floyd), Calvin (Leslie) 20 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister Rose Wood; brothers, Mathias and Frank Smith; many nieces and nephews and special friend Beatrice. She was predeceased by her parents, Colin and Catherine Smith; sisters, Muriel Kennedy, Christy Peebles, Isabel Simard, Catherine Guimond, Carrie Guimond and Josephine Bruyere; and her mother and father-in-law George Sr. and Margaret Clarke. Mom was born in Manigitogan, MB on June 22, 1933, where she grew up. Family was the most important thing to Mom, sharing in many holidays with family and having a good laugh with everyone, especially her bingo buddies. Mom was the most loving, caring, and unselfish of mothers. In sickness and in health she was always there to help. Wake services will be held at the Manigotogan Recreation Centre starting at 12 noon on Sunday, December 9 with funeral services to follow Monday, December 10 at 2:00 p.m. Cremation will follow. Pallbearers will be grandsons Jason, Daryl, Billy-Jo, Terry, Nick and Kevin. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons Steven, Joshua, Grant, Matthew, Jeremy, and Lief. A sacred fire will be lit on December 10, at 12:00 p.m. at the home of nephew Clarence Kennedy. The fire will burn for 4 days. Friends and family are welcome to stop by and visit. The family wishes to thank Dr. Petkau nurses and EMS attendants of the Pinawa Hospital, the doctors and nurses of the emergency unit of the Health Sciences Centre for their care of Mom in her time of need.
