REX WARWICK WOOTTON
Born: Mar 20, 1922
Date of Passing: Dec 08, 2001
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryREX WARWICK WOOTTON Sadly we regret to announce the passing of Rex on Saturday, December 8, 2001. He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Ann; his daughter Diann and husband Greg Magnus; his cherished grandchildren, Scott and his wife Trisha of Lockport, MB, and Laura and her husband Randy LeDrew of Banff, AB. Rex was born on March 20, 1922 in Melbourne, Australia. As a young man he came to Canada with the Commonwealth Air Training Program and became a fighter pilot instructor. He met Ann in Winnipeg, and they achieved their 58th wedding anniversary on December 4, 2001. He began his career with Ray-O-Vac and continued his career in management retiring from MacLeod Stedman. He was a member of the Wartime Pilots Association and the West Winnipeg Rotary. He enjoyed his years in Rotary - the chicken fry, the exchange student program, and the peer support program. His most precious moments were spent at Caddy Lake with his family - particularly enjoying such a special relationship with his grandchildren. He was happiest puttering and having Scott help him fix things at the cottage - and the before breakfast swim. His love of his homeland persuaded Laura to make two trips to Australia. He was a kind and generous man. For the past year and a half he resided in West Park Manor, and the family wish to thank all the staff for their care and kindness. Cremation has taken place. Rex will make one last journey to Caddy Lake, and a private family service will be held there. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3B 2H8. "Dad, Im everything I am because you loved me."
