LILLIE MARCELLA SADOWSKI Passed away peacefully on Friday, December 7, 2001 with family at her side at Seven Regions Health Centre, Lillie Sadowski age 79 years, 11 months of Plumas, beloved wife of Mac Sadowski. Lillie was born on January 7, 1922 in Kaministiquia, ON. She met her husband Mac in Port Arthur, ON and they were married on March 8, 1945. They moved to Plumas and farmed for a couple of years before buying the Plumas Cafe. After running the cafe for several years they lived in Elliot Lake and Sudbury for seven years before returning to Plumas to run the cafe for a few more years. Lillie and Mac then operated the hardware store in Plumas for 15 years until retiring in 1986. Lillie was very active in the community. She had been a member of Plumas Lionelles & Rebekkah Lodge, a lifetime member of Pins N Pals Quilters Guild, a 4-H teacher, an active church member, a Director of Womens Work in Fair and a Prodigious Exhibitor at the Annual Fair. She also loved knitting, crocheting, quilting, and gardening, and bowling for many years. Lillie was also a lifetime caregiver. Lillie was predeceased by her parents Aino and Eino Paavilainen, and her brother Leo Paavilainen. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband Mac of almost 57 years; five children, Fran (Alex) Porosky, Marlene (Mel) Fischer, Joyce (Ed) Rempel, Colin Sadowski, Gail (Bill) Clark; 10 grandchildren, Brent (Paula) Rempel, Trevor (Keri) Fischer, Brenda (Darren) Tonn, Alison (Gerrard) Pawloski, Darryl (Donna) Rempel, Janis Porosky, Neil Porosky, Jennifer Sadowski, Thomas and Charde Clark; and seven great-grandchildren Dylan and Quinton Pawloski, Niklas and Sara Fischer, Hailey and Troy Tonn, Emma Rempel; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 11 at 2:00 p.m. in the Plumas United Church with Rev. Debra Orton officiating. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, Box 2248 Stn Main, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 9Z9, or to the St. Amant Centre Foundation, Winnipeg, MB. Clarkes Funeral Home, Gladstone in care of arrangements.
