Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJENNIE F. THIVIERGE Jennie F. Thivierge (nee Cann) was born in The Pas, MB on Thursday, March 29, 1923, the second of four children of George and Ruth (nee Tolan) Cann. She was raised in an outdoor environment in the small town of Herb Lake, MB where she made many lifelong friends. She met her husband, Lionel Thivierge, a Provost in the Army, while working at Deer Lodge Hospital in Winnipeg and was married on Friday, May 9, 1952 in Churchill, MB. Two children, Ruth and George were born of this unity. After the untimely death of her husband, Jennie and children moved to Winnipeg where she struggled with low income to provide a decent upbringing for her children. In her struggle, she aided, and was aided by Church and the Legion, where she again made many lifelong friends. Jennie passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 8, 2001 at Grace Hospital, Winnipeg after a short bout with Cancer. She is survived by a younger brother Gordon (Elvira) Cann; her two children, Ruth (Don) Swardfager and George (Nancy) Thivierge; and two grandchildren, Walter and Jennifer Swardfager. She was an active member of the #1 Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Many people will remember Jennie as a dedicated, hardworking and generous individual, who always kept in touch with family and friends. Her soft heart and generosity of spirit will leave a warm glow in the hearts of those whose lives she touched. Her home was always open to those in need of laughter, or comfort. Her smile nourished the heart while her delicious baking nourished the body. Her family wishes to thank everyone for their support at this time. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 12 at 1:00 p.m. at #1 Legion, 626 Sargent Ave., (corner of Sargent and Maryland). In lieu of flowers, please make donations in the name of Jennie Thivierge to the #1 Legion or #1 Legion Ladies Auxiliary. KNYSH FUNERAL CHAPEL 1020 MAIN STREET 582-0973
