Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRAYMOND CHESTER McKNIGHT 1920 - 2001 Peacefully, surrounded by his family at Rosewood Lodge, Stonewall, MB on December 9, 2001. Raymond was born in Gunton, MB on April 14, 1920, the youngest son of Thomas and Bessie McKnight. He had lived in Balmoral most of his life. He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Fred and Bill; and four sisters, Florence, Laura, Margaret, and Sylvia. He leaves to mourn his wife of 57 years, Marcella (Waterer) three children, Colleen (Marino) Sigvaldason, Leonard (Shelley) McKnight, Shelley (Brian) Watts; nine grandchildren, Darryl, Heather and Nadine Sigvaldason, Ashley, Victoria, and Reid McKnight, Brenda, Tim and Kyle Watts. He is also survived by sister-in-law Dorothy McKnight; brother-in-law John Waterer and numerous nieces and nephews. As a young man Raymond worked for various local farmers and then obtained employment with the Department of Transport as a runway inspector at the Winnipeg Airport as well as Eskimo Point, Rankin Inlet, Churchill, Thompson, and Lynn Lake Airports. In 1966 he commenced employment as a carpenter with his brother-in-law John Waterer and later with the Interlake School Division until his retirement in 1985. A prayer service will be held on Wednesday, December 12 at 7:00 p.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. A memorial service will be held in the Balmoral United Church on Thursday, December 13 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Barbara-Ann Bryant-Anstie will officiate. Interment will follow in the Victoria Cemetery, Balmoral. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial donations may be made in Raymonds memory to the Parkinson Foundation of Canada, 204-825 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB or to Rosewood Lodge, Stonewall.
