MINNIE FEDORUK (nee HYRICH) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother and Baba, Minnie Fedoruk, on Sunday, December 9, 2001 at Holy Family Nursing Home, Winnipeg. She will be lovingly remembered by her five daughters and their families, Victoria (Bill) Hryciw, Joyce (Lawrence) Stopera, Gloria (Robert) Olynyk, Stephanie (Paul) Smolarski, Frances (Eugene) Gunning; grandsons, Barry (Marilyn) Hryciw, Jason and Justin Olynyk, Keith and Tim Gunning; granddaughters, Shelley Stopera and Leanne (Ed) Gugenheimer; five great-grandchildren and four great great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law Annie Kulbaba and many nieces and nephews, all of whom she cared for deeply. Minnie was predeceased by her dear husband, Nicholas in 1983; her two brothers, Onefry and Bill Hyrich and step-brother Tony Kamaraus. Mother made several courageous moves in her lifetime. She was born in Ukraine on October 20, 1916 and tragically lost her father Theodorus and mother Domka at a very young age. She was forever grateful to her brother, Onefry, for sponsoring her to Canada at the early age of approximately 11 and providing her with a loving home in Belmont, MB. At the young age of 17 she married Nicholas and together they farmed for over 40 years in Stead, MB, raised and educated their children. In 1978 with Nicholas health failing, they moved to Lockport where they comfortably resided with their youngest daughter, Frances and her family. Father passed away five years later, but Mom spent a total of 21 years secure in this arrangements. Mothers last physical move came in March, 1999 when she entered the Holy Family Nursing Home, a place she truly loved, making many friends of staff, other residents and visitors. They all were drawn to her gentle and loving nature. Mother was completely accepting at every stage of her life and, regardless of how busy or how tired she was, she began and ended every day in prayer. She had a deep love of God. She trusted Him explicitly and He never failed her. The family takes great comfort in the knowledge that our loving mother has now reached her final, well-deserved heavenly destination. The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the Sister Servants of Mary Immaculate and staff of the 4th Floor for making Mothers stay with them so meaningful and her passing so very peaceful. Prayers will be held on Wednesday, December 12 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St., Winnipeg at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. A. Wach officiating. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, December 13, 10:30 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in Thalberg, MB with Fr. Michael Winn officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be her five sons-in-law, all of whom held special spots in her heart. Active pallbearers will be her five grandsons and great-grandson Blaine Hryciw. In lieu of flowers, anyone so wishing may make a donation to the Holy Family Nursing Home, 165 Aberdeen Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R2W 1T9. Mother lived her life through her family, passing on to all of us her deep faith, her love of cooking, gardening and her belief in all things good. These memories will keep her close to our hearts forever. VICHNAYA PAMYAT KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 956-2193
