ANGANETA ISAAK Angeneta Isaak, born May 5, 1906, in Chortitza, Russia, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2001 at the age of 95 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Abram Isaak in 1989; her parents, David and Angeneta Holzrichter; and sisters, Maria and Tina; and brother Jacob. In Ontario, she is survived by her nephew Herbert Bergen and wife, Helen and family. In Germany, she is survived by nephews, Viktor Bergen and wife Toni, Hans Bergen and wife Maria, Heinrich Holzrichter and wife Liese; niece Anganeta Wiens (nee Holzrichter) and husband Walter, Heinz and Helene Froese, Hans and Liedia Froese; and many great-nieces and nephews. Anganeta was orphaned at age 14 and raised by her sisters. In 1925 at the age of 19, she was baptized upon confession of her faith. During the war in 1941 she and many refugees fled to West Germany. She became separated from her siblings. Eventually she found her way to the MCC shelter in Berlin. She travelled with many others to Paraguay when the opportunity presented itself. In December 22, 1952 she married a widower, Abram Isaak. After about 10 years in Paraguay, she and Abram moved to Canada. Although there were no children from this union, they had a very close and happy marriage. When her husbands health deteriorated and he required daily personal care, Anganeta moved to the Donwood seniors residence. She faithfully visited her husband in the Donwood Manor Personal Care Home until his death. In 1997 Anganetas health deteriorated and necessitated her move to the Donwood Personal Care Home. She soon lost her ability to walk and then later her ability to communicate. Her last years were very difficult. On the evening of December 7, her condition suddenly worsened. Only hours later, at 6:30 in the morning of December 8, she slipped away quietly. Special thanks to the staff at the Donwood Manor Personal Care Home, who provided loving care during her extended stay. Funeral services will take place at the Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy. on Friday, December 14, at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Donwood Personal Care Home, 171 Donwood Dr., R2G 0V9. "Commit your way unto the Lord; trust also in him and he shall bring it to pass." Psalm 37:5 Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
