Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALICE LAVIOLETTE It is with much sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our mother Alice Laviolette, on Sunday, December 9, 2001, at the Selkirk General Hospital at the age of 82 years. Alice was born in Shell River, MB, on October 13, 1919. She met her husband Hubert in Boggy Creek, MB, and they were married on July 1, 1940. They farmed in Boggy Creek where they raised their nine children. She was predeceased by her parents Emma and Louis Lafontaine; brothers, Steve and Henry; her sister Annette; husband Hubert; and infant son Harvey. Alice leaves to mourn her passing her nine children, Lawrence (Esther) of Winnipeg; Raymond (Alma) of Yorkton, SK; Rena (Rene) Zastre of Winnipeg; Pauline of Minneapolis; Eva (Art) Kihn of Washington; Jim (Laurie) of St. Albert, AB; Donald (Darlene) of Winnipeg; Betty (Roger) Albertson of Selkirk, MB; and Virginia (Mervin) Vermeylen of Yorkton. She also leaves her sisters, Lillian (Frank) of Winnipeg, Josephine of Regina, SK; 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 13 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, December 14 at 10:30 a.m. in the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church, Selkirk, with Fr. Boguslaw Wardzinski officiating. Cremation will follow the mass. The family would like to thank the Home Care staff for their care they have given Alice in the past few years, also to the staff at the Selkirk General Hospital, Medicine Ward. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
