MATTHEW NICHOLAS ARMSTRONG Sadly, as a result of a tragic accident, Matthew, age 17, was taken from us. Matthew is survived by his loving parents, Les and Deb and his younger brother Alex with whom he was extremely close, as well as his pets Sabrina and Saybell. He was predeceased by his brother Nicholas (in infancy) and his best friend and pet Buffy. Also surviving are his grandparents, Neil and Kathy Harder and Jack and Sheila Armstrong. As well he will be missed by his many aunts, uncles and cousins who dearly love him: Doug (Debbie), Valerie (Floyd), Rick (Elaine), Joyce (John), Cliff (Ruth), Kim (Darcy), Sheila (Len), Neil (Sandra) cousins, Kristal, Jenny, Douglas, Terry-Lee, John, Chris, Bill (Valerie), Kiel, Scott, Cheryl (with whom he shared a special bond), Mike, Steve and Eric. Special friends Maurice and Betty Chubaty and Hazel and Dale Baldwin will also miss him. Matthew, at the time of his passing, was finishing Grade 12 at the Lord Selkirk Regional Comprehensive Secondary School. He enjoyed his work at the Toys R Us and the IGA, as well as his volunteer work at the Winnipeg Humane Society. His greatest joy was spending time with both sets of grandparents and attending family get togethers. Matt cared deeply for others which showed in his work helping the teachers with younger children doing reading, math and other various skills. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 14, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. at the Green Acres Memorial Gardens, Navin Road at Hwy. #1. In lieu of flowers, donations can be mailed to the Lord Selkirk School Division Foundation Scholarship Fund in memory of Matthew Armstrong, 221 Mercy St., Selkirk, MB R1A 2C8.
