Date of Passing: Dec 09, 2001
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHELEN FRAME (MACHARSKI) On December 9, 2001, at River East Personal Care Home, Helen Frame passed away at the age of 87 after a lengthy illness. Predeceased by her husband Sandy in 1979, and by three brothers and one sister, she is survived by her son George and his wife Lea; her grandchildren, Pam Vernaus (Humphrey) and Russ Frame; and her sister Mary Single. Helen was born and raised in Transcona and lived there all her life. She was very active in sports in her youth at a time when womens sports teams were a rarity. Hardworking and enterprising, she was known for making rather than buying everything imaginable. Gardening and flowers were her passion, and she had a true green thumb. She was one of the first in Winnipeg to grow orchids. Sandy grew prize-winning gladioli, and Helen grew dahlias, and she won countless ribbons and prizes for her flower arrangements. She took great pride in her grandchildren and spent happy days teaching them gardening, perogie making, and crafts. The family would like to thank the staff of River East Personal Care Home for the care and affection they gave Helen over the years. At her request, there will be no service. Friends wishing to remember her life may make a donation to the Alzheimers Society or the charity of their choice.
