CECILE AGNES CLOSSON (nee HEBERT) 1918 - 2001 It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Cecile Closson on Wednesday, December 12, 2001, at the age of 83 years. Mom leaves behind her husband of 57 years, Leslie; children and grandchildren, Richard; Shirley (Robert) Ewonchuk and children, Stacey and Ryan; Claudette (Jim Dewart) Ronald and children, Michael, Darrell and Steven; Glen (Lynda) and children, Shannon and Shawn; and Noelle. Her memory will also be cherished by her surviving brothers, Andre and Laurent (Lea) Hebert of St. Malo; and numerous nieces and nephews living in Canada and the U.S.A. Mom was predeceased by her parents, Evariste and Donalda (Tetreault) and by her brothers and sisters, Marie, Joseph, Josephine, Cyrille, Levis, Ernest, Therese; and daughter-in-law Agnes (Paquette). Cecile was raised in St. Malo and upon graduation from St. Charles Normal School, began her teaching career in area schools. After a short break to raise her family of six children, she taught in various schools including Pinewood, ON, Richer, Dufrost and St. Jean-Baptiste, MB. She returned to the University of Manitoba at the age of 48 to increase her qualifications, then taught in St. Pierre-Jolys until her retirement. Mom was a woman of many talents and strong convictions. Her first passion was her children and grandchildren for whom she went to great lengths to nurture and provide for. Her commitment to God and to her faith was evident on a daily basis. She was active for many years in the local church choir. Mom was community oriented, an avid craftsperson, loved her bingo and cards, and was a gardener "extraordinaire". Sincere thank you is extended to Dr. Strank and the medical staff at the DeSalaberry and District Health Centre for taking care of Mom during her short illness. Funeral mass will be celebrated by Fr. Joseph Choiselat in the St. Malo Roman Catholic Church in St. Malo, MB on Saturday, December 15 at 10:30 a.m. Prayer service and viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ceciles memory to the DeSalaberry Hospital Foundation, St. Pierre-Jolys, MB R0A 1V0. "Vous qui connaissez si bien le coeur de notre mere, Seigneur, donnez-lui le repos eternel." LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements. 775-2220
