ELLEN GRACE HULME (nee FULCHER) It is with sadness that Graces family announce her sudden peaceful passing on Saturday, December 8, 2001, at Tuxedo Villa, Winnipeg, in her 92nd year. Memories and love of Grace will be cherished by her daughter Glenda McKenzie and her son-in-law Len McKenzie, grandson Mark and his wife Kristen, grandson Glen and his wife Dianna Johnson and their children, Braden and Jacob all of Campbell River, BC. Grace is also survived by her brother Victor Fulcher and his wife Rose of Vancouver and her sister Mary Cleven of Winnipeg. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. We will miss her so much. Grace was predeceased by her husband Edward Hulme and her parents, Samuel and Margaret Fulcher of Brandon, MB; brother Jack Fulcher of Exeter, ON and sister Adeline MacNaughton and her husband Charles MacNaughton of Toronto; brother-in-law Harry Cleven of Winnipeg; mother-in-law Annie Hulme and sister-in-law Margaret Hockley of Brandon; brother-in-law Lyle Hulme and his wife Mary of Neepawa, MB. Grace started teaching in rural one-room schools, often with students from grades 1 through 11 in McGregor, MB, Austin, MB, and many other towns. Often she boarded in family homes. Later in Brandon, she taught at several schools, David Livingston, King George, George Fitton and Park School. She retired from teaching in 1970 in Brandon. Grace was a very caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a terrific aunt. She was so very proud of her two grandsons, Mark and Glen, and loved her trips to be with them in Campbell River and at Disneyland. Grace never judged, never uttered a cross word, was always supportive and encouraging and was so glad to hear of family news. She was truly a gentle woman. Family holidays spent with Ed, Glenda and family at their Clear Lake cottage were highlights and will be fondly remembered and remain as special times in everyones hearts. Graces friends at Hobbs Manor in Brandon held a special place in her heart. The family would like to especially thank the caring staff in Stations 2 and 3 at Tuxedo Villa for all their thoughtful attendance to Graces needs over the last six years. In accordance with Graces wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.
