HARRY TURNEY Sunday December 3, 1916 - Tuesday December 11, 2001 Dad passed away at the Health Sciences Centre with his family by his side. Dad leaves to cherish his memory five children, Ray (Ruth), Bill (Phylis, Don (Susan), Renette (Pat), Susan (Darcy) 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Sam and sister Trudy of Kelowna, BC. He was predeceased by his brothers, Bill, Bob and Kelly. Dad was employed with the T. Eaton Co. mail order for 37 years, and also painted evenings and weekends. Dad was a very dedicated hard worker. He remained with Eatons until the closing of the mail order at which time he went to work for Winnipeg School Division #1, until his retirement. Dad had a long and full life. He enjoyed bowling, golf, and long walks until he was sticken with Alzheimers. Even through his illness, Dad enjoyed visiting with family. He especially liked trips to Lockport, and the annual family picnic at Birds Hill Park. Dad was a very special, loving and devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His kindness and gentle manner will never be forgotten. According to Dads wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 15 at 1:00 p.m. at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St. The family would like to give special thanks to the caregivers at Lions Supportive Housing at 333 Maryland St., and the nursing staff at HSC, GD4.
