Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTANLEY ALEXANDER SLYM 1909 - 2001 It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Stanley A. Slym on December 11, 2001 at the age of 92 years. Stan will be missed by his loving wife Sophie of 73 years; daughter Irene (Del) Reid of Winnipeg and son Stan (Elaine) of Surrey, BC. He also leaves to mourn grand-children, Colleen (Boyd), Jeffrey Reid of Edmonton, Mark Slym of Surrey; great-grandchildren, Brendan and Corrina (Boyd) of Winnipeg and Michael Slym of Surrey; sisters and brothers-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; three brothers, Samuel, John and William; and grandson Christopher. Stan was employed as a machinist with the CPR for 44 years. During his working years, he and wife Sophie entered the business world, first with a Red & White Store at Burrows and McGregor and later the Statler Grill on Kennedy Street. He was one of the founding members of the C.U.A.C. Upon his retirement he and Sophie travelled awhile, finally settling in Mesa, AZ, where they spent many happy winters. Stans pride and joy was his cottage at Falcon Lake, where for almost 50 years friends and family congregated and were left with many happy memories of our good times together. The family would like to express their sincere thanks and gratitude for the wonderful care given to Dad, by the 3rd floor staff at Oakview Place. We will be forever grateful for their kindness and caring. In accordance with Stans wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Monday, December 17 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Stans memory to a charity of ones choice. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
