Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySOPHIE PALANO (nee PUCHAILO) After 10 years of suffering with Alzheimers, Sophie Palano peacefully entered her eternal home at 9:15 p.m. on December 12, 2001. Sophie was born to Stephen and Annie Puchailo on January 5, 1921. She was one of 16 children. She grew up on a farm in Gilbert Plains and at the age of 17 she came into Winnipeg. It was here that she married and raised her family. Moms life was not an easy one but she was always happy and you were always welcome in her home. She will be remembered for her magnificent garden, beautiful flowers, her love of animals and her giggle. Mom was a kind and gentle person and all through the years of her illness she maintained her happy demeanour and was loved at Tache Nursing Centre. Sophie was predeceased by her parents, several of her siblings and her granddaughter Tammy. Left to mourn her are her son John (Sylvia), and their children, Michael and Lori; and her son Allan (Mary) and their children, Allan Jr. (Mona) and Jamie. The family wishes to thank 2ABC Tache Nursing Centre and Pastoral Care for their love and care shown to Mom over the years and for their support and compassion over the past five days. Viewing will be held at 9:30 a.m. followed by the funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 19 at Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, 847 St. Marys Rd. Interment willfollow at the St. Boniface Cemetery. A gathering of friends and relatives will follow at the Christ the King Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2 or to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3.
