EDWIN GEORGE HANRATTY Edwin George Hanratty of Winnipeg, Manitoba passed away on December 6, 2001 at the Grace Hospital. Edwin was born in Vancouver, B.C. on June 10, 1992 son of Ernest and Margaret Hanratty. Edwin was educated as an aeronautical engineer, which allowed him the freedom of movement to varied locations many were wherever there was an airplane hanger. His career took he and his family to Kenora Ontario, Winnipeg, Selkirk and Gimli Manitoba, locations throughout B.C. as well as the Northwest Territories. His love of airplanes led him to many adventures with the bush pilots of the north during his time spent inspecting, maintaining and repairing aircrafts. Edwin was predeceased by his daughter Pamela (1970), his brother Ken (1971), his mother (1978), his father (1980) and his wife Frances (1996). He is survived by his son Patrick (Rosemary) Hanratty, Surrey, B.C.; his daughters, Linda (Herbert) Hinton, Argyle, Manitoba and Elizabeth Banks of Hamilton, Ontario; 15 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Interment and a family service to take place at Valley View in Surrey, B.C. on a later date.
