DR. ROBERT LORIMER HOWDEN Peacefully, on Dec-ember 14, 2001 at the Meadowood Manor, Dr. Robert (Lorrie) Howden passed away at the age of 90 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife Irene; sons, Robert, wife Nancy, Richard, wife Paulette and stepdaughter Diane Muloin. He will be missed by his brothers, John (Hazel), Harold (Katie) six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Marjorie Campbell in 1971; and his brothers, James and Gerald. Lorrie received his medical degree in 1937 from the University of Manitoba and practiced in St. Boniface until his retirement in 1976. As a family physician he was both proud and delighted to have delivered over 3000 babies during his career. An avid curler, Lorrie served on the Executive of the Heather Curling Club for over 60 years. He was an Honorary Life Member of both the Heather Curling Club and the Manitoba Curling Association. For over 70 years Lorrie enjoyed the Twin Beaches on Lake Manitoba. Whether he was doing chores around the cottage, entertaining friends or watching the sunset, Lorrie was happiest at his "Paradise on earth". The family would like to extend a special thank you to the homecare workers for their many kindnesses and to the staff at Meadowood Manor for their care and loving comfort to both Lorrie and Irene. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the St. Boniface Hospital and Research Foundation or the Meadowood Manor Building Fund. A memorial service celebrating Lorries life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 20 at the Norwood United Church located at 160 St. Marys Rd. In care of arrangements: EDWARD J.
