JOHN ERNEST GEORGE THALMANN (ERNIE) On December 11, 2001, Ernie Thalmann passed away peacefully at Riverview Health Centre after a courageous battle with cancer. Ernie was predeceased by his parents, Andy and Millie; and sister Frieda. Left to mourn his passing are sister Mildren, brother-in-law Dave, nephews, Brent (Sandra) and Brian; great-nephews, Brenden and Ryan; along with Aunt Hope and numerous cousins and friends. Ernie was born August 30, 1932. His career with the Air Force began in 1955 and ended in 1976. During his lifetime, Ernie enjoyed camping, fishing, golfing, curling and playing cards as well as any family gatherings. A special thank you to Dr. Kirk and staff on 3E at Riverview for their caring support and kindness. A memorial service will be held at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., entrance on Aubrey Street on Thursday, December 20 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, R3C 9Z9 or charities of your choice.
