During her 85 years, Mary touched the lives and warmed the hearts of many with her love, caring nature and respect for others. Mary was born in Winnipegosis on July 15, 1916, where she obtained her education and worked for various families as a caregiver. In 1940, she married Marvin Zwarich and together they began a lifelong commitment filled with adventures. In the early years of their marriage, they managed fish camps and commercial fished on Lake Winnipegosis and worked in the community. The family moved to Dauphin in 1957. As her sons got older, Mary volunteered more of her time to community organizations. The Dauphin Ladies Hospital Auxiliary have recognized Mary for over 30 years of outstanding dedication to their organization. Mary and Marvin moved to Portage la Prairie in 1996 to be closer to their immediate family. Marys warm personality soon attracted many new friends who, in turn, brought much happiness to her. Surviving are her sons, Dennis (Joan) of Portage la Prairie and Orest (Valerie) of Calgary; sisters, Rosalie Barsewsky, and Olga (Lorne Sass) and brother Bill (Rose) Tumak, all of Winnipegosis. Baba will always be lovingly remembered by Kristin (James Kostuchuck) of Portage la Prairie, Susan Zwarich of Winnipeg, and Kara Zwarich of Calgary; and will be deeply missed by great-granddaughter Jennifer; great-grandson Jacob; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
