JAMES H. G. CLARKE Peacefully, after a brief illness, Jim passed away on December 13, 2001 at the Neepawa Memorial Hospital. Jim was born in Dauphin, MB, later moving to Neepawa, MB where he was educated and apprenticed under Harry Smith earning his electricians papers and later starting his own business, "Jim Clarke Electric" until his retirement in 1992. During Jims life, he was extremely active in the community as a volunteer Fireman with the Neepawa Fire Department for 34 years and he was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion No. 23 in Neepawa. Jim was also an integral member of the following fraternal organizations: Manitoba Grand Orange Lodge Neepawa, Independent Order of Odd Fellows Neepawa No. 16, Order of the Eastern Star Naomi Lodge No. 11 Neepawa, Gladstone No. 11 Masonic Lodge, Kharthum Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. Winnipeg, Keystone Chapter No. 2 Royal Arch Masons Portage la Prairie, and Mount Carmel Preceptory No. 44 Portage la Prairie. Aside from his many friends, Jim leaves to mourn his passing brother-in-law Martin Taylor; his nieces and nephews, Lyn Taylor, John (Linda) Clarke, Heather (Art) Mitchell, Kathy Robertson (Cam McLeod), and Gordon (Leona) Robertson; his great-nieces and nephews, Nancy (Scott) Shipam, Darcy Clarke, Rebecca McLeod, Kayla Huff, Jacob Robertson, Chrissy (Terry) Hanstead, and Dan (Margaret) Mitchell; his great-great-nieces and nephew, Alexis and Jacob Mitchell, and Kira Hanstead. He was predeceased by his parents, A.P. and Daisy Clarke of Neepawa, by his brother Gerald and sister-in-law Bea Clarke, his sister Florence (Molly) Taylor and sister Yvonne and brother-in-law Ross Robertson. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 19 at 2:00 p.m. in Whites Funeral Home, Neepawa, with Rev. James Bardsley officiating. Ashes are to be interred at Riverside Cemetery following the service. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. White, the nursing staff, Mary Ellen Clark, and the volunteers of the Palliative Care Service for the wonderful kindnesses shown to Jim. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Volunteer Palliative Care Service in care of Mary Ellen Clark, Neepawa Memorial Hospital, Neepawa, MB, R0J 1H0 are graciously accepted.
