JULIA OLYNYK (nee SAFINIUK) Peacefully, on Sunday, December 16, 2001, at the St. Boniface Hospital, Julia Olynyk, passed away two days before her 80th birthday. She was predeceased by her husband Walter and parents, Eva and Harry. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Lawrence, Doug, Melanie (Rick) Gilleta and Lillian (Paul) Kernoski; grandchildren, Daniel and Katie Olynyk, Laura and David Gilleta; sister Jean Berger; brother Stan (Gerry) Safinuk; relatives and friends. Julia was born, raised and educated in Transcona. She married Walter in 1946, moved to East Elmwood in 1954 and raised their children there. A loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother and a kind and gentle soul who left this world the way she lived her life, in peace, with grace and dignity with the support of the Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital. Special thanks to Dr. Fred Olynyk. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation (Palliative Care Ward) 409 Tache Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R2H 2A6. A celebration of Julias life will take place on Wednesday, December 19, at 5:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Private burial has taken place. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
