JOSEPH (JOE) MARTIN VIELGUT "A JOURNEY OF LOVE" Peacefully, on December 16, 2001, at the age of 60, with his family in attendance at the caring Riverview Health Center. Joe was predeceased by his parents Elizabeth and John of Flin Flon. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Judy of 34 years, by his daughters Kirsten and Jennifer, and by Kirstens husband Haney and their precious new baby Kailyn Alexandra Louka. Joe is also survived by his older brother John and his wife Pat, by his niece Kathy, and nephew Tom, mother-in-law Alice Anthony, and brother-in-law Larry (Pat). Born in Flin Flon, Joe graduated from the University of Manitoba (B.Sc.) in 1965, and acquired his Chartered Accountant designation in 1974. He spent most of his professional career with the provincial departments of Agriculture and Finance. There, Joe made many life-long friends, and was a role model and mentor to many. Joe was a devoted husband, father and newly blessed grandfather who enjoyed exploring Lake of the Woods with his family aboard his beloved Crayfisher, and cruising with his fellow mariners. He played pool with the boys, and was an expert bridge player. He also enjoyed curling, hunting, fishing, collecting and restoring unique driftwood and eagerly assisted Judy in her pursuit of wild flowers. Joe was a very special man who touched the hearts of all those who met him. His courage, strength and trust in his faith in his long battle with his illness was an inspiration to the health care community, to his fellow patients, to the clergy, to his family and friends, and to all those who knew him. He will be dearly missed. The family would like to extend its sincerest appreciation to the staff of Riverview Health Center for their courtesy, respect and compassion. The funeral service will be held at Mary Mother of the Church, 85 Kirkbridge Drive, 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19. The honorary pallbearers will be: John Vielgut, Larry Anthony, Ross Noble, Bob Skull, Fred Butler, Jeff Knight, Ernie Masiowski, Terry Stubbs and Daniel Moquin. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Riverview Health Center or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 956-2193
