Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN "JACK" ROBERTS Suddenly, on December 14, 2001, at his residence, John "Jack" Allan Roberts passed away at the age of 78 years. He was predeceased by his wife Marceline Roberts in 1998 and his brother William "Bill" Roberts of MacGregor, MB. in 1987. Jack leaves to mourn his daughters, Ruth (Steve) Hajnoczky of Calgary, AB, Carole Roberts of Keewatin, ON. and Laura Roberts of Winnipeg; his sister Elsie Douglas of MacGregor, MB.; his niece Katherine (Jack) Anderson of Rossendale, MB; nephews, Ed (Carol) Douglas and Lyall (Val) Douglas; grand-daughters, Julya and Helen Hajoczky of Calgary. Jack was born on August 27, 1923 in the Rural Municipality of North Norfolk, MB. He was employed as an accountant for all his working years. At the time of his death he was employed by Ryan Gateway Insurance Brokers Inc. Previously he had retired from the accounting firm of Peat, Marwick and Thorne. In his youth he spent many hours playing hockey at the MacGregor Rink. Later in life he enjoyed curling. Jack was also an avid baseball fan of both national and local leagues. He excelled at snooker all his life. As an accountant he was generous with his professional expertise, advising and assisting family and friends. Over the years he enjoyed many visits to his in-laws tourist camp near Kenora, ON., engaging in canoeing, boating and fishing. In recent years he attended many family gatherings with his sister Elsie Douglas, his many nieces and nephews. Jacks favourite hobby was reading, and keeping up on current events. He was well known for his wonderful sense of humour and pleasant nature. He will be remembered as a kind and caring father and grandfather.
